Joy in the Garden
Hello Friends of the Garden!
Today we are exploring the joy of gardening and the gardener’s creed.
Gardening has always always filled my soul with a sense of well-being and joy.
As a young child I gardened right beside my Mother, as a Mom I gardened with my children, as a Grandmother I garden with my grands.
Gardening is a way of life, inseparable, vital, we are both entwined much like the rose vine climbing the arbor.
Gardening is a guiding light which influences viewpoints, attitudes and opinions but most of all gardening brings joy.
On this February day I look out my office window -gray quiet skies, brown quiet earth with clumps of white snow, a sense of longing exudes from heapes of snow while I reflect on the beacon of light that gardening offers.
It is not only the gardener that benefits from growing.
I venture to say so does the receipient.
Stifiling a smile of joy while receiving a homegrown bouquet, a pint of fresh strawberry jam, a basket of apples or a burlap bag of fresh vegetables would be nearly impossible.
Gardening produces JOY!
While I garden for well-being, the thrill of the bud,,the beauty of the bouquet, the delight and giggles of a grandchild picking a bloom, I also garden for JOY~
Gardener’s Creed (an excerpt from upcoming book)
Seasons spent in the garden teach us purpose and growth.
Gardening teaches us to invest in steady growth rather than a fleeting trend or notion.
Teaches us patience not perfection.
As flowers dance in our gardens we become the choreographers of their blooms.
Let our dreams sprout with determination like the tender sprouts of the blossom.
There are no gardening mistakes-only experiments.
Thank you for joining me,
Joy abounds in the garden!
As always,
Jemma
