Joy in the Garden

Hello Friends of the Garden!

Today we are exploring the joy of gardening and the gardener’s creed.

Gardening has always always filled my soul with a sense of well-being and joy.

As a young child I gardened right beside my Mother, as a Mom I gardened with my children, as a Grandmother I garden with my grands.

Gardening is a way of life, inseparable, vital, we are both entwined much like the rose vine climbing the arbor.

Gardening is a guiding light which influences viewpoints, attitudes and opinions but most of all gardening brings joy.

On this February day I look out my office window -gray quiet skies, brown quiet earth with clumps of white snow, a sense of longing exudes from heapes of snow while I reflect on the beacon of light that gardening offers.

It is not only the gardener that benefits from growing.

I venture to say so does the receipient.

Stifiling a smile of joy while receiving a homegrown bouquet, a pint of fresh strawberry jam, a basket of apples or a burlap bag of fresh vegetables would be nearly impossible.

Gardening produces JOY!

While I garden for well-being, the thrill of the bud,,the beauty of the bouquet, the delight and giggles of a grandchild picking a bloom, I also garden for JOY~

Gardener’s Creed (an excerpt from upcoming book)

  • Seasons spent in the garden teach us purpose and growth.

  • Gardening teaches us to invest in steady growth rather than a fleeting trend or notion.

  • Teaches us patience not perfection.

  • As flowers dance in our gardens we become the choreographers of their blooms.

  • Let our dreams sprout with determination like the tender sprouts of the blossom.

  • There are no gardening mistakes-only experiments.

Thank you for joining me,

Joy abounds in the garden!

As always,

Jemma
