Science and Creativity in the Garden
Hello Friends of the Garden!
Today is the third installment of the Gardener’s Creed.
The Gardener’s Creed is a guiding set of principles and beliefs based on my farming heritage and decades of nurturing plants and the soil.
Today we are chatting about the perfect union of science, creativity, diversity and artistry in the garden.
I invite you to give this experment a try the next time you fly during the Summer months.
Take a peek out of the airplane window as you travel over millions of acres of gorgeous farming territory.
I believe this will be an amazing experience as you will see first hand an aerial view of colorful crops.
I see a patchwork quilt of hardwork and artistry.

Science and Artistry
The mastermind behind all of these acres of gorgeous growth is a unique combination of science, mother nature and the Farmer.
Seemingly endless-acres upon acres of crops laid out in perfect squares or circles.
An ingenious plan which demonstrates the science behind succesful growth, irrigation and harvesting.
I beleive you will pause in awe.

Best Scientific Growing Techniques for Beautiful Blooms…
Farmers and gardeners have so much in common.
As a gardener I strive to apply the best scientific growing techniques through research.
When planning a garden space, raised beds, open plot, garden beds and even greenhouse growing.
I research, design and plan long before I execute anything.
Clear, cold and beautiful Winter
Growing is always on my mind…
During these Winter months of white I envision our colorful gardens-every single day!
Which got me to thinking about exactly what is the definiton of gardening?
According to the Encyclopedia Britannica :
“Gardening is defined as both an art and a science.”
March in the Greenhouse-scientfically designed, artfully grown!
The marriage of art and science…
Whether I am growing vegetables or flowers in the greenhouse, in containers or on a plot of land I am problem solving while creating.
There are always principles and techniques of plant cultivation to grow successfully.
Diversified harmony grows in the garden always and always.
Taking into consideration which flowers complement one another in color, contour and growth development.
This is where science and art intersect.
Deciding which plants or seeds to grow.
Companion Planting
Certain plants really do like to grow side by side, this is referred to as companion planting.
By strategically placing certain plants together for the benefit of one another’s growth, flavor, pest control, soil quality and even attracting pollinators!
Gardener’s Creed a guiding set of principles.
As I close this post I am leaving you with some inspiration!
